Skiing Bödele

Strapping on the skis and looking out on to the slopes with the fresh layers of snow and into the snow-covered valley – that’s how a great winter’s day should start. The Bödele is perfect for zigzagging in the snow and for sun worshippers enjoying the winter. It’s not even necessary to travel far because the winter paradise is just a little higher up right on Dornbirn's doorstep. The well-groomed ski run leads past snow-covered forests, through sunny clearings and into the wintry valley. Snowboarders and skiers are magically drawn to the Bödele – and the view of the snow-covered roofs and fairytale snowy landscapes is simply sensational.

Skiing on the Bödele

Various descents take skiers from the Hochälpelekopf at 1,467 metres back down into the valley. The varied routes make skiing on the Bödele an experience for the whole family. A map of the slopes presents the options and downhill runs that the Dornbirn/Schwarzenberg skiing area has to offer. All routes fascinate with their own special features: impressive winter panoramas for fun-seekers and even fast mogul slopes for adrenaline junkies. Skiers may also take advantage of the unique opportunity to test the four-kilometre-long world-cup downhill slope that takes them down to Schwarzenberg.

Ski schools and ski hire

Those who have never stood on skis before or simply want to refresh their skills after the long break during the summer are able to benefit from two ski schools in the Bödele skiing area. The Skischule Schwarzenberg and Skischule Bödele are happy to share the fascination of winter sports as well as tips and tricks with both children and adults. The appropriate equipment is available either directly from the skiing school at skishop bödele or from Skiverleih-Bregenzerwald at the Hochälpele valley station.

Winter variety in the Bödele skiing area

The Bödele also presents a wonderfully quiet side away from the lively slopes. Snow-covered forests and snowy landscapes await exploration on a total of 15 kilometres of winter-hiking trails. Surrounded by pleasant peace and the cool air on your cheeks. And those who’d like to try out cross-country skiing as an alternative to downhill skiing on the Bödele may take advantage of the nine kilometres of cross-country trails.

A short break at one of the huts or restaurants in the surrounding areas is great for warming up and reinvigorating with a warm refreshment.
