To commemorate stories of daring escapes from 1938 to 1945, the Jewish Museum Hohenems has set up 52 listening stations on the so-called "Audio Cycle Route". Here you can immerse yourself in the respective stories and perceive your surroundings in a completely new way.
The entire route stretches from Lochau to Partenen, also including selected locations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Our recommended route leads from Lochau to Feldkirch along the Rhine Valley Cycle Path - 42 of the listening stations can be found along this route.
As part of this immersive audio cycle route experience, there are also guided cycling tours available, as well as theatrical tours that reveal personal stories and some of the dramatic escape routes. You can find more information on the website "Über die Grenze".
Along the Rhine Valley Cycle Route, the path continues to Bregenz, Hard and over the Rhine dam to Lustenau. The cycle path then runs along the Old Rhine to Hohenems. Upstream along the Rhine, you will pass the Rheinauen centre in Hohenems, several quarry ponds, the Waldbad Feldkirch and the Waldcampingplatz where the cycle path leads to Feldkirch. There are 42 listening stations along this route, inviting you to make short stops to listen.
