The ‘Dreiländerweg Bewegung - Begegnung’ (‘Movement – Encounter - trail through three countries’) is a circular route that was established as part of a cross-border cooperation between the towns and municipalities of Altstätten, Feldkirch, Meiningen, Ruggell, Rüthi and Sennwald. It takes cyclists through particularly beautiful landscapes of the above-mentioned municipalities where Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland meet and is intended as an invitation to (cross-border) encounters: with places, with people and with oneself. The circular route is signposted on existing paths, with different surfaces (asphalt, gravel, meadow path) as a ‘Kulturweg’ (‘Culture Path’) under the motto ‘BeWegung – Begegnung’ (‘Moving – Meeting’). Places to spend some time, which offer something special and where it is therefore worthwhile to take a break, have been signed along the route. Information boards with interesting facts about that particular place have been installed at each of these 16 places. Such special places in Feldkirch’s municipal area include, for example, the Kapelle Bangs (Chapel) and the Illspitz.
