Alpine hike with a magnificent view of the border region Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and Germany. The forested Samina valley and the prominent rocks of the Drei Schwestern (three sisters) above Amerlügen characterize this tour. The Feldkircher hut and the Amerlugalpe are the tour’s highest points. From up here you have a great 360° degree view.
Author tip
During a hot summer day you can cool off in the Samina creek (it’s a 30 minute hike from Amerlügen to the creek).
If you are up for a challenge, you should hike up the «Drei Schwestern» mountains (the climb requires appropriate equipment). The tour takes an additional 2.5 hours (5,6 km and 650 meters in altitude).

From the parking lot a small, narrow mountain trail and signposts lead to the Feldkircher Hütte. From here you follow the ridge on a gravel road to the Amerlugalpe and the Sarojaalpe looking right at the magnificent mountain range of the «Drei Schwestern». After the Sarojaalpe you take a meadow and forest path downhill to the Plätzlehütta (hunting cabin). Via the forest road you get back to Amerlügen.
